All brides want wonderful pictures of their wedding day. Here are five easy tips for better wedding photos.

1) Avoid Looking at the Camera (Unless your photographer asks you to)
Have you ever wondered why you don’t see actors looking directly into the camera in the movies? One of the reasons is to give the impression that the camera is “invisible.” So, watching a movie is like seeing all the action without being noticed. Not looking to the photographer will yield more natural-looking pictures.

2) Smile More
The moment you’ve always dreamt of has finally arrived and you may be really anxious. Sometimes it’s good to take a deep breath and relax. Many brides spend the whole time at their ceremony with a serious expression. You want beautiful photos, don’t you? You want to look gorgeous, don’t you? It’s simple. Simply smile more. Let go of all the stress and planning. Smile while you’re walking down the aisle and during the whole ceremony. Relax, enjoy the day and really try to enjoy each moment. Oh! It’s good if your husband is all smiles also, right?

3) Show Off Your Love
Do you want to know one thing that EVERY wedding photographer likes? Wedding photographers like couples who interact with each other. What instantly makes a wedding picture more appealing are couples that look at each other, that smile at each other and that show off their feelings and love. And stay together during the reception! Spend time visiting friends and family together, eat together, and of course, dance with each other!

4) Avoid Boooooooooring Formals
The formals have the potential to be the most boring pictures ever. How about we make them fun and try to create uncommon pictures? The guys can stand arm-crossed and looking each one to a different side… The bridesmaids can crack up for a really natural picture. The intention is to think outside the box and get more enjoyable photos in addition to the simple “stand in a line” shot.

5) Have Fun
The first thing to put in your head is that you must have fun on your wedding day. Forget about minor problems or insignificant details. Enjoy each moment of your day. So, laugh a lot, make funny expressions and be playful. Even if the two of you need a glass or two of champagne. Don’t forget, it’s a day to really be happy and to celebrate.

After taking a look at some of the other photographers at the show, a few things now do come to mind, but I’ll only focus on three for starters:

1) I think the main difference I’ve noticed is a matter of style. Our friends over at Avenida Garcia are masters at composition, though they produce a very natural product, which is very different from our work. Others sell you models in wedding gowns, but the final product may be nothing like what you see at the show. We believe in showing you real people and real moments, such as Vaishali’s first tear on her wedding day, or even the random dance that Sarah did while Kristin was getting her makeup done. Then with over a decade in graphics design and photo experience, we bring out the best in those images. We might take 3000 photos over the course of your wedding, but your guests already did as well, and at the end of the day, we want your photos to stand out and be better than anything any of your guests could come up with. That’s why we touch up EVERY photo you get, individually, to bring out the moment. Just sit us down and go through every photo one of our clients get, versus every photo other photographers give to their clients (though in most case you can’t see those – just check out our facebook page for entire albums), and we promise you that the difference is world’s apart.

2) Another point that I noticed was that everyone seems stuck on packages, and being forced to have albums or prints that they don’t want. We sit down with you and shape the photography of the event to your needs. Yes we do have packages, but if you need multi-day, shorter, longer, or just want things to your tastes, we are all about caring for each client individually, and being able to account for special needs, events, and all different types of cultural backgrounds.

3) And finally, the world today is a digital place, though a lot of photographers don’t work that way. So we put lots of love, care and attention to your photos, but after we are done, you get them all in hi-res, without any wordmarks or logos, for you to reprint, share, put on your ipad, digital photo frame, etc… to do with as you like for your personal needs. We aren’t going to charge you exorbitant amounts for 4X6s since with the digital hi-res you can print them at any size, as many times as you’d like.
